I am one of those poor students who can't afford to spend 20$ or more on my thick, waist length hair, but I've always wanted to use henna, and this is a WONDERFUL, high quality type alternative. It's a good, cheap, low price, but is a wonderfully fine sift, came out of my hair VERY quickly (but I had mixed in some conditioner in the mix as well, so that was another factor), and gave me a wonderful red stain on my medium-to-dark brown hair, after only being on for three hours. I was amazed. :) And I loved the gloves and plastic cap they included. Saved me from yet another purchase!! Now, after a few days of oxidization, my hair is darker, and looks brown but shimmers red in some lights, while in the sun is a blazing, glowing red. Beautiful!! I did NOT follow their directions, but only in one aspect: They say to use boiling water to prepare it, but if you want the new color to last more than a month, do NOT do that. It forces the dye release, and it'll fade in a month if you do that. Instead, use CHAMOMILE TEA, very strongly brewed (three bags to one cup water), and a slash of lemon juice, and let it sit about TWO HOURS for dye release before using. Test by putting a small sploch onto your palm and waiting for sixty seconds. When that stains your palm orange, it's ready for your hair. <3
use grapefruit juice as opposed to just plain water..to "pull" MORE RED.. so you dont end up with orange or brassy. any "acid" works..lemon juice or grapefruit. but people online say grapefruit is better for a richer deeper red.

I bought this being very skeptical. I had never used henna hair dye before but had heard of other people using it. Pros. It covered all the grey I had and didn't wash out. Typical chemical dye will wash out of my hair in the first week, but this didn't do that. You still can't see my grey except where it is starting to grow out. It didn't have a terrible smell. It did smell, but more like tea or organic material. This smell stayed for a few days. You can wash your hair immediately after use. It didn't burn or hurt my scalp like other products. Cons. It is a little more runny, which makes it more messy. However it wipes off of everything with a little bleach. No long term staining. It takes a little longer than normal hair dye and you have to heat it with a blow dryer to get the full effect. Overall. I would recommend the product because in my opinion it works better. It may take longer but it stays in your hair longer and doesn't fade as bad.
Love this Foxy RED!

I loved this product and the price is better than good. I had never used a natural hair color been coloring my hair with chemicals for many, many years. The color was beautiful, cant wait to use the rest of it. I only used half, it is easy to use, is kind of time consuming but the way my hair looked and felt afterwards was worth the wait. The color has lasted longer than any other. I am sold, I will continue to use this product, the red is so pretty!

This product is definitely not bad, judging by the amount of positive reviews. This was the first time I have ever used henna. I have been chemically dying my hair for about 15 years. So this was apply over fairly dry, damaged and already red (dyed) hair. It is very orange - which I have read most pure henna dyes are, or at least the first few times you use them. It seems to be a very yellow orange for my roots (un-dyed ash/light brown). I bought two boxes so I will most likely dye it again in a few weeks time and hope the colour is a bit less orange. Otherwise I don't think I will buy this product again. It seems nice and natural, just not sure the pigment is as strong as some other red hennas out there - but I am new to this. I am not completely unhappy with the first result. So I still rate it as 4 stars because it definitely wasn't a bad experience. This product is very affordable.
