I first tried this based on the purity/simplicity of the ingredient list when I was transitioning away from rice protein after reading an article in Consumer Reports about arsenic content. (I am limited on choices, as I have allergies to most other protein powders on the market.) Compared to the previous pea protein brand I had tried, the flavor is superior and this disperses much better in liquid. I am so happy with this that the quality makes it worth the price premium. I usually order two containers at a time!

When I read the label on my recent order I noticed that The Number Of Servings Has Been Reduced from 22 To 16. That's an old marketing trick that invisibly raises the cost of a product for the consumer . Otherwise the Pea Protein is fine for my nutrition needs.

In that it has a lowering effect on IGF-1. All proteins , even plant proteins have the opposite effect. IGF-1 is a risk factor for chronic diseases specifically some cancers. Paradise makes some really nice protein powders , we opted to get away from the brown rice protein - this 100% pea protein is quite nice in the morning smoothie with berries and banana.

It doesn't dissolve very well and you get a powder aftertaste but it's not too bad. I like it with 1/2 banana, frozen blueberries and teaspoon of coconut oil. It does have a good ingredient list and I also add Chinese herb powder to all my shakes.
