Love this product, tastes great. High in vitamins A, C and D & B-complex. Also contains the minerals zinc, iron (good for anemia) and potassium. Detoxing effect on liver, kidney, gall bladder. Good product for diabetics. Aids digestion. Can be brewed & drunk the same way as normal tea (with or without milk)

the smell of it is rich and sweet like honey does although the taste is not sweet but definitely very rich and delicate,i use 6 grams for a simple decoction as the base plant together along with 4 grams of Marshmallow root and 3 grams of schizandra ( schisandra ) fruits for a stomach reviving after small "crisis" and sometimes just for its taste.bring all 3 to a boil mixed in half a litter of water, cover and let it sit on the smallest flame for 15 minutes or so.although its a great tea by itself as it is a high quality as you can find.hea;th wise it is also great for your Gall bladder detoxification as well as for inflammation of the joints...you are welcome to rate & read my other reviews

Tea made from this root is very potent.

This is my preferred brand of the two organic cut and sifted loose dandelion root brands currently available at iHerb. I make heavy use of raw dandelion root tea to treat a very serious disease of the oral cavity. I require a very powerful daily dose. I take three drinks a day using two rounded teaspoons of dandelion root. I have had quite satisfying results with this treatment. I drop the root into 3/4 cups (±200ml) of boiling water and keep it boiling for 1 minute to inactivate enzymes that would otherwise degrade the active principles. Those enzymes are more sensitive to heat than the active principles in the root. However immediately after that 1 minute I cool the tea down with 1/4 cup (±70ml) of very cold water to preserve the active principles. I then let the tea stand for 10mn before straining and drinking. With this brand I obtain a very satisfying dark tea, which is tasty, slightly bitter and diuretic. The taste is acceptable as is, but I sometimes reduce the bitterness with a touch of honey. Not everyone would require such a heavy dose, but if you do you must not forget to drink a lot more than usual as dandelion root is strongly diuretic. The other brand of organic dandelion root also does the job but is weaker. With that other brand I needed to use a lot more root per cup for the same result.

prostate inflammation intervention

Posted by iHerb Customer on January 10 2011 | Verified Purchase

This is an attempt to be neutral since my prostate problem seems to change very little. I like the taste of a tea made after roasting this product; I could drink many cups during the day. In its raw state made into a tea it seems much more medicinal - one cup of it is enough.

great stuff

Good quality. Nice to mix as a tea with Pau d'Arco Bark (Frontier Natural), Rooibos (Starwest Botanicals), Anise Seed Whole, or Fennel (Starwest Botanicals), Powdered Stevia Herb (Frontier Natural), Cardamom, Decorticated Whole(Starwest Botanicals), and Licorice Root(Starwest Botanicals). For a huge cup (500ml) use a tsp of each, except for cardamom where a 1/4 of a tsp is plenty. Simmer for 5min, turn off the heat, and infuse for 10 min. then reheat a bit. Sometimes I change a few herbs and root in order to get other minerals and vital stuff into my body. After a month or so Licorice can be overpowering in taste. Other tea herbs: Burdock, German Chamomile Flowers, slippery elm, Star Anise, Gotu Kola, Astragalus Root, Elder(European Berries), Hawthorn Berries, otanicals, Linden Leaf & Flower, Marshmallow Root etc

Great value and quality

Posted by Poppy87 on August 9 2016 | Verified Purchase

After drinking dandelion root tea and hibiscus tea regularly, I don't get UTI's or yeast infections anymore (yay!). Be careful though, only drink 1/2 cups per day. I made the mistake of making this by the pitcher, drinking about 6 cups a day, and it made me incredibly thirsty (one of the potential side effects of drinking too much of this tea).

I love these herbs

Posted by iHerb Customer on June 10 2016 | Verified Purchase

I'ven been drinking Dandelion tea now for about 3 weeks and I love it. It makes feel good all over. I use 2 teaspoons to 1 qt of water and that seems like plenty. Unlike other teas Dandelion doesn't feel like a diuretic - this is especially good when I drink it during work. Also iherb has great customer service - Thank you Ant

Excellent for Horses

Posted by iHerb Customer on August 15 2014 | Verified Purchase

I feed this to my horses. It is excellent in keeping their stools from getting to dry. Dandelion root is also detoxifying which can help with chronic health issues such as allergies.
