I used to take one magnesium glycinate chelate tablet in the morning and one in the evening, but to help with my family member's snoring, I've started switching the morning tablet to a malic acid chelate. The product name is "MALIC ACID," but the ingredient is "magnesium malate," which appears to be almost identical to the same manufacturer's "MGNESIUM MALATE." The amount of magnesium per 3 tablets is also exactly the same, so it might be a good choice based on cost-effectiveness. Cost comparison per serving (as of the end of June 2026) ◉MGNESIUM MALATE 100 tablets: ¥1,499 → approx. ¥45 per serving 200 tablets: ¥2,753 → approx. ¥41.3 per serving ◉MALIC ACID 60 tablets: ¥1,137 → 20 servings → approx. ¥56.9 per serving 120 tablets: ¥2,034 → 40 servings → approx. ¥50.9 per serving The size is ridiculously huge, and for someone like me who prioritizes ease of swallowing when choosing supplements, it's quite bulky and seems impossible to swallow. However, when I bravely popped one into my mouth, it surprisingly went down my throat quite easily, which was a pleasant surprise. Cutting it with a pill cutter might leave a sharp edge that irritates the throat and hurts, so it might be best to just swallow it whole with plenty of water. There is also a capsule version with a similar ingredient composition, but to get the same active ingredients (425mMg + 2.5g malic acid), you have to take 6 capsules at a time, double the amount of the tablets. It's a tough decision whether to take the easy-to-swallow capsules or the bulky tablets, but with these tablets, I think I'll try MALATE next.
